A Mini Prepper's Gift For The Holidays

I'm a work out of my home sort of person.  I design and make bikinis as Exposure Swimwear.  When I find a good deal on fabric, I tend to buy a decent supply of this fabric.  But what happens when these fashionable pieces of textile become not so fashionable?   Well, then you recycle, reassign and gift to your prepping friends.

What can you do with yards of unusable fabric?  Think about the possibilities.  Here's just a few of my ideas.

You can cut a strip and tie down your car trunk if you are carrying large items.
You take a long and somewhat wide strip and tie a long row of knots in it to make a dog toy.  Also good for bored little kids.
Cut a large square piece and form into a bag to hold small scraps of wood for you fireplace or BBQ.
Cover a window to block harsh sun.
Want to change the direction a young tree is growing?  Cut a strip of fabric to tie around the trunk, then attach to a stake in the ground to gently pull it to the direction you desire.  The fabric will be gentle on the trunk; and will not damage.
You can even wrap gifts in fabric

or

this is the tadaaaa moment -

You can use tuck this fabric away in your prepping supplies.
What for you ask?  Here's a few of my suggestions.
Wash your fabric in hot water and dry it in the hot drier.  Place in a huge ziploc bag and save.  You could also put assorted sizes of fabric in smaller bags. Now you can cut this into strips to use as bandages.  You can also use this type of strip as a tourniquet.  You can take a large piece, fold it so you have a bit of a thickness, soak in water, place in a bowl and sprinkle with chia seeds or other sprout type seeds (just in case you don't have sponge for this).  Use a large piece as sun block or sunscreen.  You can strain your collected water to remove debris.
Can you see how this list could go on and on?

So today, being Christmas Eve, and down to the dead line for my gift wrapping, my unfashionable fabric is being gifted out to prepping friends and family.

Happy holidays and keep on prepping!
