If I am working hard at maintaining some sort of stability with an electronic devise, do I want a solar flare to destroy it? More important in desperate times than in our current lives. Right? Or not?
We, as individuals, can not control how the government is protecting our country from a massive electromagnetic pulse attack but we can take care of ourselves. And quite simply, as it turns out.
I discovered this info while checking out info about solar flares. Click here to check out an article from the National Geographic on how to build a simple Faraday Cage - simple, inexpensive and practical.
New question - will the storage batteries for our solar panels be effected? What about the panels themselves? I believe I will be finding a way to protect both of these items.
If we, as preppers, even as a 'mini prepper', are really preparing ourselves for difficult times, should we not consider EMP as a threat to be prepared for?
Reality check here - time to invest in some simple metal containers and educate ourselves on yet another disaster we should be prepping for. And for me - I'm contacting this Solar Energy Forum to get some answers about how to protect my panels.
Click here for an article by Jerry Emanuelson that is pretty simple and to the point.
